Chapter 1
Context
In 2020, NSSF Uganda was bringing all of its digital work in-house, creating an opportunity to build digital capability closer to member service, communication and organisational priorities.
ChallengeThe task was not simply to run channels better. It was to build the people, processes, content, marketing technology and measurement needed to make digital part of how the organisation serves and grows its member base.
Chapter 2
Role
As Digital Supervisor, I have been responsible for planning, implementing and measuring the Fund’s digital marketing strategy, working across growth, engagement, customer service, analytics, content and digital adoption, working with internal teams.
Chapter 3
Approach
- Established systems and processes for the internal digital unit, creating a more consistent operating rhythm across channels.
- Supported digital innovation and marketing activity designed to shift more member interactions towards e-channels.
- Built growth and engagement activity around registration, service adoption and financial-literacy priorities.
- Embedded online sentiment, channel performance and campaign measurement into ongoing decision-making.
Chapter 4
Outcomes
- Helped support a 91:9 e-channel-to-walk-in service ratio.
- More new customers were registered through digital channels.
- The content-marketing approach contributed to a positive online sentiment.
- Built a repeatable internal digital capability rather than relying on channel-by-channel execution
Chapter 5
Lessons
The biggest shift was not simply getting more people online. It was treating digital as part of the operating model: service, growth, communication and measurement working together.
